As a psychotherapist, author, and
consultant, Karen Derman has helped thousands of
children and their families over the past 25
years. She completed her masters degree at Goddard
College in Plainsfield, Vermont where she first
began working with special needs children.
Karen is the Author of "The Magic Hole
In The Sky" book and audio tape for children and their
parents. She is also the Author of "102 Tips to Take
Charge of Your Child’s A.D.D." She has been a
workshop leader, speaker, and consultant at schools,
hospitals, corporations, and other organizations.
Karen maintains a private
practice in Malibu, California. She is also the
Coordinator of the Autism Program and Director of
Parent Training at a major hospital in Los Angeles. She
has developed both programs over the past several
years. Karen is currently being featured in a
Video, "The Changing Face of Autism."
Karen's oldest son was legally
blind for the first ten years of his life,
and she has struggled with attention
and learning disabilities since childhood. These
experiences have had a powerful impact on
Karen's life and have deeply
influenced her work with others.
